The first book in the Number One Bestseling Science Fiction Series . This series is Space Opera at its finest. All seven books in the series have been number one bestsellers at 's Science Fiction Series. The following review describes the series well

This review is from Annihilation Love Conquers All
I was amazed at Saxon's beautiful re-creation of some of the best Golden Age SF. There just wasn't enough of it written. Modern authors usually don't or won’t get into the spirit of a good Space Opera. Saxon has real heroes (smart ones, great space battles, grand alien empires and bad guys you can love).
He has it all. The characters are pure types. They are also powerful. What really made this book great was the marvelous style. His pacing and scene cutting remind me of E.R. Burroughs. Sharp! Fast paced and quick, the battle scenes remind me of Drake. I am so grateful to read a book that is not dripping PC (sorry PC police!). A true blast from the past, I cannot wait to read the rest of the series. I only wish more authors had the ability and courage to write like this. E.E Smith would be proud.

A young boy born with unique psychic abilities.
An ancient alien artifact he accidently discovers.
Now Earth is targeted for total annihilation by 50,000 warships.

In this epic story, Saxon Andrew takes us into the future and the lives of human and nonhuman characters, some we can easily relate to, and others who are a bit different. Along with a hearty dose of battles and spaceships, this is a story that offers humor and a tale of enduring love against the backdrop of galactic war on a grand scale. The following is an excerpt from the book

Admiral Dorg sat in his command chair on board the Alliance Flagship War Weapon and watched as his fleet was destroying the humans’ ships. He heard his bridge crew cheering but he couldn’t help thinking, “This is too easy. This fleet couldn’t have defeated our ships at the Human Colony World.”

Then he said, “Communications, put a picture of one of those human ships that was just destroyed on my display.” A picture of a small ship suddenly appeared on his console. He looked at it for a minute and then pulled up a picture of the small human ship that had killed two heavy cruisers. He put it next to the ship that had just been destroyed; they looked nothing alike. His internal alarms went off at full blast; he stood and yelled, “Order the fleet back into formation!” His crew stopped cheering and looked at him like he was crazy. “Do it now; we’re being set up for a trap!” His crew hesitated, looking at each other for just a moment, and then started issuing orders, but that small hesitation proved fatal; the human fleet ripped into the Alliance ships like a tsunami.

Love Conquers All is a story about relationships and abilities about 800 years in the future of Earth. It also begins showing the dealings of Earth with other alien races, which seems to be very limited at the start of the book.

The voice and writing manner in this book seems to be aimed to the younger set; somewhat shorter, declarative sentences, not as nuanced as an adult book would be. Also, several situations get explained at least twice (especially early on), like the reader's attention span isn't very good. The duplicate explanation often uses even the same wording. This is an annoying trait, but does seem too lessen as the book goes on.

There is much about this future Earth society that is only skimmed. There are a lot of rules governing who you marry, where you work, and many other things. However, it is not well explained, just mentioned and then written of as if it is something everyone knows and accepts. However, since much of this entire saga is about space and other societies rather than Earth customs of the time, this is not a big issue.

They mention prayer several times, and a creator (lower case) a couple times, but there is no development of this concept at all. In no way could this ever be construed as any kind of a religious or spiritual book.

As the story moves forward, it becomes more involved in space rather than Earth. Also as the story progresses, when situations happen it appears that the good guys always win. Now I like it when the good guys win in the end, but it seems like this society never loses. Nobody is that good. Every thing that Tag (the hero) or his compatriots plan comes off without a hitch. In addition, the pace of technological development is rather unrealistic. It is almost like conception to creation to construction to field use takes a matter of weeks.

Another factor of "the good guys always win" is what happens after they defeat an alien race. Immediately after that happens, the heroes talk to the alien enemies, and instantly the alien leaders see the error of their ways, most often those errors being involved in the fact that they are warrior races, known for their aggressive behavior and fighting prowess. After one discussion with the victorious earthlings, those aliens are ashamed of themselves and immediately adopt a more "Kum-Ba-Yah" pacifist attitude, and entire worlds abandon thousands of years of their history within a few days. This general process continues on an ever larger scale, at least through the first two books.

As for spelling, grammar, and the more tangible issues of the book, there are some problems, and are one reason why I marked the book down a star. While I didn't see the egregious issues brought up by some reviewers, that are problems, and a better editing job could improve things. There are occasional tense disagreements, some spelling, some homonym issues or else just word use misunderstandings (inpatient<>impatient, discrete<>discreet). There are also some dropped words or construction problems ("When is it due to the cleaned?").

Between the physical writing issues and the general frustration that these guys never even break a sweat, let alone lose, I rate the book at a low 4-star level. However, that being said, I love the general story line and concepts. I ended up reading the entire book in two days; I couldn't stop. I enjoyed it so much that I did what I RARELY do; I bought the next book in the series. Your opinion may vary, but if you are looking for a fun, swashbuckling space adventure without a lot of depth to drag you down, Saxon Andrew has written an excellent series for your enjoyment.

Love Conquers All Annihilation series Book 1 eBook Saxon Andrew Reviews

This is the second book I've read from this author and it seems to be in the same vein. In 'The Chase' Series, we have High Genetic folks. In this series we have some humans with high Physic potentials. In this series, Humans have gone through several World Wars, finally figured out they might just kill themselves and created a society under a rigid benevolent dictatorship. As mankind has spread throughout the galaxy, we run into the Alliance, an organization of 800 species that tries to keep everyone under control. We have a specific enemy in one of the races and have had to rearm our forces to protect Earth.

Our Hero hides his abilities as a child into high school but gets exposed trying to help his secret crush do better on an important test in school. The beginning is a bit slow but the story line does develop nicely. At the same time, the Military has run ins with members of the Alliance.

Our Hero eventually ends up on the run on the Moon and finds alien technology that is an instant death sentence for a species that is carried out by the Alliance. How will Earth be saved? Gotta read it to find out.

We have

Technology - both the problem and the resolution for Earth.
Love interests
Aliens, lots of aliens
Space battles - These are described a bit better
Ground warfare - Go marines

I like the story and I think it has more depth than 'The Chase-The Prince' I read earlier by the same Author. It suffers grammatical errors and some conversational confusion but overall I think it is a good story. Classic Space Opera.
Very interesting story line and enjoyed the way the author worked in hints of past events that shaped reactions to current and future events all the characters we're dealing with. Interesting set of characters from all over the galaxy based around one in particular that the took you from their childhood to adulthood developing and shaping the persona with special JIT abilities that were needed to save an entire species. Incorporated several different intra-story lines of intolerance, heavy-handed responses and outright evil interwoven with coming of age innocents in a strict society governed by a distant force that everything was seen in black & white with no room for gray. Then takes the reader on a roller-coaster ride of action-adventure, new love and friendship and good-heartedness that sets the stage for the ending. Several things I liked to see in this read that one normally misses in most other military sci-fi reads intelligently used high-tech, very interesting psychic abilities that grow a little more with each experience instead of the typical one-time traumatic event that kills/frightens everything around it post-awakening, the resurrection of the Marine credo for a world that had long ago walked away from a brotherhood of warriors concept for "apparent" pacifism after a devastating world event, and finally the intelligent adaption and use of alien technology to improve and protect life versus just conquering. Not to mention the uncovering/reawakening of an ancient super-intelligence that looks to play a big part in the next saga of this adventure. Oh! I also liked the general inquisitiveness and attempt by many of the characters to think deeply about ideas and not just accept conventional wisdom of the times that was sprinkled throughout the book. Great read and couldn't put it down till I completed it!
